The Carr & Day & Martin National Championship League 2026

Side Saddle Ireland are delighted to announce that for the third year running, Carr & Day & Martin are coming on board as title sponsors of our National Championship League. More information will be provided in due course.

To be eligible to earn league points in affiliated classes you must carry out two steps on our itsplainsailing account:

  • Pay your 2026 membership
  • Register to participate in the league (have horse passport to hand) 

Both of these steps must be taken so that we can apply points in correct categories- all of the points collation is done by volunteers after every show so unfortunately we cannot chase you for information. Both steps are available at www.itsplainsailing.com/org/ssi

You need to be a member of Side Saddle Ireland to participate in the league and you must register your participation in advance (free of charge) on itsplainsailing.com/org/ssi to enable to committee to keep track of results and points after every affiliated show. This is quick and easy- you just need your horse passport and membership number! For show secretaries who wish to affiliate and turn their side saddle class(es) into qualifiers for the championship, please feel free to contact us sidesaddleireland@gmail.com for further info!
There is a Best Turned Out Rosette sponsored by CDM and Best Rider Rosette sponsored by Equestrian Portable Showers Ireland awarded at every affiliated class with lovely prizes at the end of season- a sash for the Rider with the most BTOs and a horse shower for the rider with the most BRs!

Carr & Day & Martin National Side Saddle Championship League

Side Saddle Ireland are delighted to announce the Carr & Day & Martin National Side Saddle Championship League 2025. This league will run across affiliated shows in the Republic of Ireland all summer, (the shows are publicised on our social media and here under diary of events on our website). Members of Side Saddle Ireland may earn points at each affiliated show as soon as they have registered their participation in the league on itsplainsailing.com/org/ssi
Carr & Day & Martin will be sponsoring beautiful prizes for the top 4 in each category at our end of season awards- Ladies, Intermediates and Juniors, while the Supreme Champion of the League (the highest placed Lady OR Intermediate) will be awarded €1,000 prize money! Carr & Day & Martin are also awarding a Best Turned Out Rosette at every affiliated show- the lady, intermediate and junior with the most BTO Rosettes will each be awarded a stunning sash at the end of season awards.
League rules will be published on our website www.sidesaddleireland.com and all results will be collated and recorded each week by two members of the Side Saddle Ireland Committee.
There are further categories for Best Rider, Breeds and Types of Horses within our league and sponsorship for these is currently being finalised so please stay tuned for further updates!
